The Athletic Department would like to congratulate and welcome the following individuals into their new roles with ACISD!
Melissa Reyes
School year 2020-2021 will be Melissa Reyes’ 20th year with our district! During her time with us she has worn many hats including middle school volleyball, basketball and track coach. She has been one of our dedicated girls’ basketball coaches and our head softball coach for 11 years! Melissa has received many recognitions and awards in her time thus far including Softball Coach of the Year 2016 and 2018, 2011 TGCA Texas Assistant Coach of the Year, and took her team 4 rounds deep in the playoffs in 2016. The Athletic Department is very excited to welcome her into her new role as Girls’ Coordinator!
Mark Jeffery
School year 2020-2021 will be Mark’s 6th year with ACISD! He has taught middle school health each year, coached 7th grade A volleyball for two years, 8th grade A volleyball one year and Freshman volleyball for two years. Mark has also been our assistant softball coach for five years and was named TGCA Assistant Softball Coach of the Year 2018-2019. Mark also won a National Championship in 2005 with the Durham Attack Volleyball Club and was named Ontario Volleyball Association’s Player of the Year in 2004! The Athletic Department is very happy to welcome Mark into his new role as Head High School Volleyball Coach!
Morgan Hale
Morgan attended RFHS her junior and senior years 2010-2012. She was a part of the state tournament girls’ basketball team in 2010-2011. They were a mere one game short from the regional tournament her senior year 2011-2012. She signed to play basketball at the University of Texas at Tyler and ended up transferring to Arlington Baptist University. There her team won 4 national championships. Morgan was names 1st team all American 3 years in a row 2013-2016 and national tournament MVP 2015. She previously has worked at Veteran’s Memorial High School from 2017-2018 as assistant track and cross country coach and at Miller High School as head girls basketball from 2018-2020. The Athletic Department is thrilled to welcome Morgan back to ACISD as our Head High School Girls’ Basketball Coach!
Roben Eller
Roben grew up in Corpus Christi where she attended Calallen High School. She played four years of college tennis while attending Wharton County Junior College and Sam Houston State University and graduated from Sam Houston with a degree in education and majored in All Level Physical Education and English. She taught one year at CC Miller and then moved to Wharton to be the head tennis coach and freshmen English teacher. She taught and coached tennis in Wharton for 32 years. It has always been her dream to come back home and finish her career. “I love the beach and water and I can’t wait to enjoy it every day,” says Eller. The Athletic Department is delighted to have Roben join our team as the new Head Tennis Coach!
